British Airways was fantastic but not nearly this sweet. A poster for Flight of the Conchords.
Jet lag has hit me much harder than I thought it would. This morning I woke up around 3:30 AM and was unable to return to any kind of significant slumber. Apart from a shortened nap, I have not slept since then. And it has been a long and very good day.
I returned without a hitch and am now amidst the busiest set of days I have known at home in ages. Visiting family in Greenfield and visiting family in Hagerstown has paused what unpacking/debriefing/photo editing & uploading/book finishing/friend visiting/blog writing/etc. I hope and need to do.
Looking at the next several days I honestly have no idea how everything is going to fit. And while I am slowed and slurred by a very tired mind, I go to bed knowing it was a very good day. Getting to see and talk with old friends, old brothers, and family I have not seen in (what I think has been) two years was refreshing. Many encounters with childhood memories both clung to and not-so-clung-to. Good to stand back and look at the larger canvas, especially in the face of the tests ahead.
I'll end the crypto-talk and sign off. Hoping to turn in by 11 and duel this tiredness head-on. Check out the "post soundtrack" link below--I listened to this song multiple times on my longest return flight and it got better each time. A nice fit.
