Ironies

In one of my life's greater ironies, I have taken a job as a Mac Lab Supervisor here at Taylor.  The Art Department has a(n) (i)Mac Lab dedicated to Graphic Design, Photography, and Web Design students. What's so strange about that?

I used to be an avid Mac hater.  Partially because of misinformed, militant youth.  Partially because Apple fans seemed like a bunch of brainwashed drones.  Partially because of the risky airs of pretentiousness and elitism associated with the whole thing.  My budding interests in image editing stemmed from using Adobe's Photoshop on a PC, and from my perspective there was no reason on this earth to buy a more expensive computer that was being different just for the sake of being different.

My time at Taylor has had me spending time around the well-loved iMacs, and my experiences have been good.  Taking a job as a lab supervisor is a great fit, as I am currently in a Dreamweaver class and a Web Design class, and down time in the lab will likely be put towards working on web stuff.

I have some interesting Apple-related pictures and insights to share in a future post.  They may help to explain some of my feelings regarding the company, but hopefully will just lead to some laughs.  That post will just have to happen when it happens; I have been so backlogged of late that I have been having a hard time keeping up with all that I should.
