With a buzz in our ears we play endlessly

Hey everybody! I'm posting this from a condo in Hawaii--Maui, to be more specific. It's morning here and I do believe it's about time I fill you in on my lack of presence here and what I plan to do about it.

The internship with the Mercy House has been fantastic so far; I am learning and growing and stretching such as never before, and this summer is shaping up to be the summer I have longed for the past several years. Before I left for this family vacation to Hawaii, the group of interns in the building were looking at getting the building hooked up with some broadband. The fam might have an extra wireless router lying around the house that I could bring over and set up for everybody. While I will not actually have a computer there (both by choice and by the fact that I do not have a laptop), I will be able to borrow others laptops for keeping up with things a bit more reliably than just using the public computers at the Anderson (public) library.

Hawaii, so far, has been a bit of a whirlwind tour. I find myself cherishing lay moments, time to go out and explore on my own. Here and there I have hopped on to a family laptop we brought to do some major catch-up on emails and such, but my free time is mostly spent trying to make this trip more of a personal vacation than a programmed tour. I have enjoyed the majority of what we have done, to be sure, but I long for unscheduled time to go out and explore, or sit out on the porch and read.

With that, I had better get going. We might be heading for a drive up a mountain on Hawaii, and I am hopeful that the view will be clear as we look about the island and the sea surrounding us.

Following our return from the Hawaii trip and some days of recovery, I hope to initiate a kind of plan I have for regular posting. I'm shooting for weekly updates, but we'll see how it goes. My track record isn't the greatest here, but the combination of some new Blogger features and my growing ability to manage my time thanks to the internship leave me hopeful that this blog will finally become the vehicle it was intended to be.

Speaking of new features, check out the subscription links on the right! If you have not yet subscribed to the blog, I would recommend you do so! Updates are on their way.

Last, a little treat... (thanks, Maija!)
