It's a New Day

"Actor David Carradine, son of John Carradine, said in gratitude of his father's accomplishments, 'I could stand on his shoulders and feel twice as tall.'  That each generation could stand on the shoulders of the last and feel twice as tall is a poetic hope for all our families." - Fred Rogers

February has come and gone, and I cannot help but wonder if future Februaries will all be like the previous two.  So many changes and challenges.  And so much growth!

The thought of turning this place into another apology-for-not-posting outfit does not sit well with me, but the simple fact is that this semester is positively overwhelming.  I might be doing twice as much work as I have previously done in school.  If that is an exaggeration, I would not know.  It certainly feels that way.

The busy-ness of the moment should loosen up mid-week this week.  By then I will be finished with a sculpture that I am pretty excited to share and talk about.  Beyond that, there are a couple handfuls of things that are on the backburner for this place the next Saturday morning that I have free enough to sit down and translate thoughts and feelings to words.

I'll leave with a song that has been looping in my head (turn it up!).  It's called "Hey, Snow White" by The New Pornographers.  I read that it's a cover by a band called Destroyer.  Not exactly band names I'd be drawn to, but this song is excellent, and fun.
